Nestled along our sugar sand coastline with the backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico’s spectacular twilight spectrum each and every evening, Olde Naples is the heart and soul of Naples.

Every city or area or community has that special locale where it was first discovered … its place of origin … and for Naples Florida that area is: Olde Naples.

Nestled along our sugar sand coastline with the backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico’s spectacular twilight spectrum each and every evening, Olde Naples is the heart and soul of the Naples. Bordered to the north by the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, to the south by Aqualane Shores and 14th Avenue South, to the east by combination of US 41 and the Bay of Naples, and with a western border of the Gulf of Mexico, Olde Naples is where Naples we know today grew from a sleepy accessible by boat only destination in the late 1800’s.

Then, and still today, a fabled gateway to the 10,000 islands, Naples had two maritime visitors named General John S. Williams and Mr. Walter N. Haldeman, who after sailing through what is today known as Gordon Pass and beyond into what is today known as the Bay of Naples, found their hearts and minds both captivated and inspired. Shortly thereafter, Naples’ first developments were commenced upon by the Naples Town Improvement Company in 1886. The Naples Town Improvement Company represented a group of founding families from Kentucky and Ohio. Visionaries, their imaginations creatively emboldened by the natural beauty of the tropical paradise found, their first venture was the construction of the Naples Pier which at the time was a hotel with a long porch facing the Gulf of Mexico.

Fast forward to today. Inviting promenades along the 5th Avenue South and the 3rd Street South districts, venues for breakfast, lunch or dinner, active art and culinary “street fair” events, the Christmas time tree lighting among bow wrapped light bedecked street signs and lantern posts, friendly service driven vendors and retailers, and of course a stunning array of housing and residences to select from … this IS today’s Olde Naples.

Whether it is the mahogany tree canopy lining the streets north of Central Avenue that are so beloved for their close walking distance to the beach (a prevalent theme and feature throughout Olde Naples lifestyle), the melding of urban and residential designs and lifestyles along 5th Avenue South, the Naples Historic district as memorialized on the National Register of Historic Places, or so many other lifestyle elements … Olde Naples will be part of your community home and love for Naples whether it is where you choose to purchase your residence or not … it is a light to which we are all drawn offering grace and natural charm which produce the very same innate warmth that our founding families felt when they first visited.
